After you tap "Done” to complete the fill tubing process, the t:slim X2 Pump will attempt to detect how much insulin remains in the cartridge. If the Pump has detected less than 50 units in the cartridge, you will see the Minimum Fill notification screen.
The t:slim X2 pump requires a minimum of 50 units available for delivery after fill tubing has been completed. When filling the syringe, add approximately 45 units to the amount of insulin you want available for delivery. This will account for your amount, plus a residual amount of unusable insulin (approximately 20 units). The total amount of insulin in cartridge should never exceed 300 units.
Troubleshooting Tips:
If the Usable Insulin in the cartridge is less than 50 units:
- Select “Fill” on the Minimum Fill notification screen.
- Add insulin to the existing cartridge as needed. Please Note: total amount of insulin in cartridge should not exceed 300 units.
- Follow the Change Cartridge steps on your pump screen to re-load the existing cartridge.
- Ensure that your infusion set tubing is disconnected from the site on your body. Then, complete the Fill Tubing step again. A minimum of 10.2 units must be filled before you can stop the Fill Tubing step.
- If the Minimum Fill notification recurs, you will need to load a new cartridge onto the pump. Please review the Load Sequence Tips below.
If the Usable Insulin in the cartridge is greater than 50 units:
- Tap “Close” on the Minimum Fill notification.
- Follow the Change Cartridge steps on your pump screen to re-load the existing cartridge.
- Ensure that your infusion set tubing is disconnected from the site on your body. Then, complete the Fill Tubing step again. A minimum of 10.2 units must be filled before you can stop the Fill Tubing step.
- If the Minimum Fill notification recurs, you will need to load a new cartridge onto the pump. Please review the Load Sequence Tips below.
Load Sequence Tips:
- Do not re-use or re-fill cartridges.
- Use the syringe that came with your cartridges.
- Use room-temperature insulin.
- Ensure there are no visible cracks in the cartridge.
- We recommend filling the syringe with a minimum of 120 units.
- Only used approved insulin. The Pump is indicated for use with NovoLog or Humalog U-100 insulin.
- Ensure you insert the needle in the center of the white cartridge fill port.
- Do not overfill cartridges. The base of the syringe’s plunger should not pass the 3mL line.
- Ensure you remove the residual air from the cartridge before filling.
