The Tandem Mobi cartridge has raised lines and numerical markings to show insulin fill level. There are two black bands (O-rings) in the cartridge. The top black band (the one closest to the cartridge pigtail) indicates the amount of insulin in the cartridge.
- 0.5 = 50 units
- 1.0 = 100 units
- 1.5 = 150 units
- 2.0 = 200 units
When filling the cartridge, add the amount of insulin you want available for delivery for 2-3 days plus the additional amount needed to fill infusion set tubing. The amount of insulin in the tubing can vary from 5 units to 30 units. There must be at least 30 units of insulin remaining in the cartridge once the tubing is filled. It is recommended to fill the cartridge past the 0.5 mL (50 unit) mark to ensure proper fill.
