Why does my pump screen turn off so quickly? [video]

The Screen Timeout is the amount of time your pump screen stays on after the last interaction you have with it. You can set the Screen Timeout to the length of time you want the screen to stay on before it automatically turns off.

The default for the Screen Timeout is 30 seconds. The options are 15, 30, 60, and 120 seconds.

You can always turn the screen off before it automatically times out by pressing the Screen On/Quick Bolus button.

If the pump is locked, the screen will turn off after 10 seconds if you do not unlock it.

Additionally, as a safety feature, if three nonactive areas of the touchscreen are tapped before an active area is tapped, the screen will turn off to prevent accidental screen interactions (the "three strikes" rule).

To adjust the Screen Timeout, follow these steps:

  1. From the Home screen, tap OPTIONS.
  2. Tap the Down Arrow.
  3. Tap Device Settings.
  4. Tap Display Settings.
  5. Tap Screen Timeout.
  6. Select preferred time and tap the green Check Mark.
  7. Tap the Tandem logo to return to the Home screen.
