To learn about how to turn Control-IQ Technology on or off, watch the video or review the steps below.
To navigate to the Control-IQ menu, tap on the OPTIONS button on the home screen.
Within the OPTIONS menu, tap on My Pump.
From the My Pump menu, tap on Control-IQ.
From this screen, you can turn Control-IQ technology ON or OFF.
In order to turn on Control-IQ technology, you must input your weight and total daily insulin in the Control-IQ menu. The following settings must also be configured in your active Personal Profile:
- Carbohydrates turned to “on”
- Insulin duration
- Basal rate
- Correction factor
- Carb ratio
- Target BG
Entering weight and total daily insulin allows Control-IQ to start working right away, without needing a lengthy warm-up period for the system to “learn” you. Total daily insulin includes both basal and bolus insulin. If you don’t know your total daily insulin, speak with your healthcare provider to get this value.
Carbohydrates must be turned on, and an insulin duration must be set. Basal rate, Correction Factor, Carb Ratio, and Target BG must also be programmed. These settings should always be determined with a healthcare professional. Target BG setting is needed in the event that Control-IQ technology is not in use.
If you do not have these settings, you will receive an alert when trying to turn on Control-IQ technology.
