Basal-IQ technology uses CGM to predict and help prevent lows by suspending insulin delivery when glucose is predicted to go below 80 mg/dL. Basal-IQ technology predicts glucose values 30 minutes ahead, based on CGM readings, and suspends insulin if the values are expected to drop below 80 mg/dL.
Control-IQ technology is designed to use CGM values to help increase time in range (70–180 mg/dL) by automatically adjusting insulin delivery when glucose is predicted to go low or high.
Control-IQ technology predicts glucose values 30 minutes ahead, based on CGM readings, and can decrease or stop basal insulin delivery to help prevent lows, or increase basal insulin delivery and deliver correction boluses to help avoid highs. Control-IQ technology also takes into account Personal Profile information and insulin-on-board and has specific settings for sleep and exercise activities.
