Out of Range Alert
When you see this alert, your pump and CGM transmitter are not communicating.
Control-IQ technology will continue to adjust basal insulin delivery and deliver Automatic Correction Boluses for the first 15 minutes that the transmitter and pump are out of range. Once the transmitter and pump are out of range for 20 minutes or more, Control-IQ technology will not adjust insulin delivery until the two devices are back within range. For these reasons we suggest setting the Out of Range Alert under CGM alerts to 20 minutes.
Control-IQ technology will remain ON but be inactive, with a grey diamond icon on the Home Screen until the pump and transmitter resume communicating.
Your pump will continue to deliver insulin based on your active Personal Profile. You should tap OK and ensure the pump screen is facing out, and on the same side of your body as the sensor to help reestablish the connection. Once your pump and CGM are communicating again, Control-IQ technology will resume automatically.
Max Insulin Alert
If your pump has delivered 50% of your Total Daily Insulin over the previous 2 hours, you will get this alert. Basal insulin delivery will be stopped. This is a safety measure to ensure that users are not receiving too much insulin. You should tap OK and confirm that your Total Daily Insulin amount is correct in the Control-IQ menu. During this time, you will still be able to manually bolus for food.
Control-IQ Low Alert
The Control-IQ low alert is intended to inform you that Control-IQ has decreased insulin delivery, but still predicts a sensor glucose below 70 mg/dL (80 mg/dL with exercise activity) in the next 15 minutes. Treat the low glucose based on your health care provider’s recommendations and tap OK on the alert screen.
Note: This alert is different from a CGM low alert.
Control-IQ High Alert
The Control-IQ high alert is intended to inform you that Control-IQ has increased insulin delivery, but your sensor readings are above 200 mg/dL and are predicted to remain there in the next 30 minutes.
Never ignore persistent high glucose. Please see this guide on Troubleshooting your Glucose for steps to take, then press OK on the alert. If troubleshooting steps fail to reduce repeated high glucose as you would expect them to, contact your healthcare provider.
