Getting Started
Read the guide below for more information on how to get started on the t:connect Mobile App for Android.
Smartphone Setup
Instructions for how to enable phone security and pump alerts on your smartphone, and how to disable Power Saving Mode and Screen Zoom.
Enable Smartphone Security
1. Go to Settings.
2. Tap Lock Screen.
3. To pick a kind of screen lock, tap Screen lock type.
(If you have already set a lock, you will need to enter your PIN, pattern, or password before you can pick a different lock.)
4. Tap the screen lock option you would like to use. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete setup.
At least one of your smartphone’s native authentication features (e.g. pattern, fingerprint, or facial recognition) must be enabled in order to utilize the Bolus Delivery feature of the t:connect mobile app. If your security settings are not enabled, the t:connect app will automatically disable the Bolus Delivery features.
Enable Pump Alerts on Your Smartphone
1. Go to Settings.
2. Tap Notifications.
3. Tap Included Apps.
4. Tap a type of notification.
5. Choose your options:
• Choose Brief or Detailed.
• Turn on settings to show even while screen is off to ensure all alerts are pushed to the phone lock screen.
Make sure that notifications are enabled in the t:connect mobile app as well as in your smartphone settings.
1. From the t:connect mobile app Dashboard, tap Settings on the Navigation bar.
2. Tap Notification Settings to toggle push notifications on.
In order to receive your pump notifications on your smartphone, you must enable notifications in your smartphone settings, and the t:connect mobile app must be open in the background. Notifications will include your pump alert text information and use the audible tones that you setup in your smartphone settings. If you set your notifications to silent, you will not receive an audible alert tone for your pump alerts and alarms on your smartphone.
PRECAUTION: We recommend that you keep notifications enabled on your smartphone to receive your pump alerts, alarms, and notifications.
Disabling Power Saving Mode
1. Go to Settings.
2. Tap Battery and Device Care.
3. Tap Battery.
4. Turn off the Power Saving mode toggle.
The t:connect mobile app has not been designed to operate optimally with low power settings of your smartphone turned on. To ensure reliable use of the app, it is recommended that you do not use the Power Saving Mode on your smartphone.
When the Power Saving Mode is on, your smartphone battery will last longer before you need to charge it, but some features of the t:connect mobile app may not work as expected.
Disable Screen Zoom
1. Go to Settings.
2. Tap Display.
3. Tap Screen Zoom
4. Drag the Screen Zoom bar to the left to turn magnification off.
The t:connect mobile app has not been designed to work optimally with the Screen Zoom setting, which magnifies the screen on your smartphone. Using Screen Zoom could cause parts of the t:connect mobile app to appear illegible and some features may not work as expected. To ensure reliable use, it is recommended that you do not use this feature on your smartphone.
PRECAUTION: ALWAYS turn Screen Zoom off when using the t:connect mobile app. If your smartphone has Screen Zoom turned on you should rely on your pump for all therapy decisions.
